RE: The Arc of Chemung Celebrates Success of 2nd Annual Golf Tournament

Elmira, NY – The Arc of Chemung is pleased announce that its 2nd Annual Norm Ward Golf Tournament, which took place on Friday, June 16th at the Willowcreek Golf Club in Big Flats, was a huge success!

Thanks to the generous support of the eighteen teams who participated, and community sponsors, the event raised more than $10,000 to support employment for individuals supported through Southern Tier Industries (STI), a division of The Arc of Chemung. STI is dedicated to developing vocational skills and work habits in order for individuals supported to be employed at local businesses. To date, 172 individuals in Chemung County receive supports from STI.

Sixty-eight golfers enjoyed a great day of golf, a delicious lunch, and buffet dinner. Congratulations to the winners of this year’s tournament, with a score of 60, Team Kennedy Valve: Paul Gardner, Jack McPike, Matt Hicks, and Dustin Sramek. Congratulations are also in order for the winners of our on-course contests: Closest to the Pin—Women’s: Steph Narde, and Men's: Pete Lowman; and Longest Drive—Women’s: Julie Monahan, and Men's: Glen Parsons.

A thank you to this years’ sponsors: Hole-In-One Sponsor—Simmons-Rockwell Hyundai; Beverage Cart Sponsor—Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes; Silver Sponsors: First Heritage Federal Credit Union, GCP Discount Liquors & Wines, Gentle Family Dentistry, Gough Holding Corporation, KV Engineering, and Mengel Metzger Barr & Co.
